ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says that one person is in critical condition following a crash in southeast Allen County Wednesday morning.
It happened just before 6 a.m. at Flatrock and Minnich. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says that a car was north on Minnich Road when it side-swiped a semi on the southbound side for an unknown reason. The car veered into the southbound lane and hit a pickup truck head-on.
The driver and sole occupant of the car was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition.
The roadway was closed for several hours Wednesday morning.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On March 26th, 2025 at approximately 5:47 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Minnich Rd. north of Flatrock Rd., reference to a multiple-vehicle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located a passenger car, pickup truck, and semi tractor with trailer involved in the crash. A preliminary investigation indicated that the passenger car was northbound on Minnich Rd. and the semi was southbound Minnich Rd., when for unknown reasons the vehicles sideswiped each other. The passenger car then appeared to cross over the center of the roadway before striking a southbound pickup head on.
The male sole occupant of the passenger car was transported by Parkview Samaritan helicopter in critical condition.
This incident remains under investigation by officers of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.
